Fear

Life starts and finishes with fear. When we are child, we are not afraid of anything. Then, fear meant only the fear of getting physically hurt.

But, then we grew up and started getting afraid. Afraid of losses, afraid of losing – losing our possessions - of wealth, health, reputation, knowledge and everything that we accumulated in between, in our day to day living.

The society and the civilisation actually was formed as we were afraid, to stand alone. It was fear that brought us together initially and then it became our life. It graduated from simply surviving to conquering, it started finding happiness in its victory, in its expansion. And with this happiness came the brutality of seeing hapless conquered people and feeling great about our own strength. We started multiplying by procreating, by conquering so that we become invincible. The desire started gaining strength and its endless march is still on.

Why do we accumulate? Whether it is money or knowledge or good wishes? Why it is becoming out nature to accumulate? Because we feel that what we have, is what we are. So, the more we have, the more we are.

Fear’s origin is in forgetting our connectedness to the universe. It is in forgetting our true self and seeing us as individual members of a caste, society or country. Till we remember this as our reality, we are bound to be in conflicts.

Love & Sex

Love and Sex:

We all talk of love. We swear of our love to our wife, to our husband, to our society and so on. But we don’t know what love is.

For most of us love means catching hold of someone or something and not letting them go. Possession, for most of us, is what love means – whether it is a person or an object. If the item or person is lost, is taken away, we feel the loss and we claim to be suffering as the object of our love is no more with us.

Love is not barter. It does not demand anything. It is not on conditions. It is a flow. It is not a destination. It is to be felt from the heart, not analysed from the intellectual mind. It is not governed by the rules of society or government. It has its own calling. If you listen to it, you forget yourself and in that forgetting, the love blooms. Love, with it’s own rules and regulations that are completely different from the ones, made by human beings, can govern you, if you allow yourself to be trampled by this. It gives ecstasies, but it also gives you the acutest suffering. It is for the brave to love. For a commoner, it is better to love in its limitations, where you laugh in your smiles and where you cry in your sad expressions. Love allows you to laugh to the maximum and cry to the unbearable.

In one word – Love comes in your life, when you forget yourself. The most memorable moments of your life were, if you care to recall, when you felt at one with the universe. There was NO separation between you and what made you full of love. It might have been the sweet smile of a beggar child on the street, or the kiss of your spouse or the natural scenario of a mountain or river, or just a plain field with a solitary tree. You may have been moved so much that you actually cried in your happiness. You were grateful to the universe that you experienced such a phenomenon. During those moments YOU did not exist. Those are the moments of Meditation.

Till YOU are alive, you cannot love. Because then, you will be governed by the analysis of your mind – Can I love? Should I love? Is he worthy of my love? Does she respond to my love? What, if, ….. and, so on…..

And what is Sex? Sex is an act between two people, when they feel so close to each other that they decide to shed all their inhibitions, including clothes and melt into each other to get the most pleasurable experience available to mankind.

Sex is the physical act, that takes you - out of YOU. It is a moment of extreme pleasure. You forget yourself during those moments - if the act was voluntary, if it was not forced on you. During the moments of unforced sex, you feel a pure love that is only possible during meditation. But then, why the entire world thinks of sex and is scared of it, at the same time? Why almost all the religions in the world, except may be Buddhism, ask its followers to have a tight control over it? Why the rules of the society limit this act?

Religions banned or limited its use, as its use will take people away from the God. People will be happy, satisfied if sex was not restricted and very few satisfied people, actually go to temples/mosques and churches etc. The Government made lots of rules and regulations regulating it, but in which part of the world, sex is not a problem? Both religion and Government will lose their power, if sex is not controlled. It is told that societies will go berserk if we don’t control sex. By the way, where is society heading right now, with all these controls?

And the beauty is, the same head of religions and society will not think twice before indulging in the act, if nobody was watching or if the act was in complete secrecy.

The problem is in the mind. For a male, it is his power; for a female it is her bargain tool to turn the power in her favour.

The act of sex takes place for bearing a child, for pleasing one’s lover even if your heart is not in the act, for clearing any debt, for earning money, for fun etc. But, very seldom, it is enacted for love. Very few times, one wants to melt oneself in her lover’s arm.

But, if you love somebody, you would like to have no barriers with them, so people in love all over the world gets into sexual act without thinking. But if your object of love is not married to you, it makes you feel so guilty that you want to keep away from the act as much as you can - the guilt of not following society’s rules and regulations and one’s own conditioning.

And, for the people, who would like to have sex with whomever they meet, it is a show off of their achievement, as people in other walks of life show off their cups and medals.

And in the last, is woman only an object of sex alone???

NO, a woman is an object of love, and NOT Sex. But, most of the males can’t differentiate between love and sex, so they try sex. If they get, they continue, if they don’t, they go away.

In addition, the human psyche is interested in power, and for men – having sex with women gives a sense of power to them. So, the more, the better….

So, whether to have sex or not, you will have to decide yourself, whether the person who wants sex with you, is which type of person and take your decision accordingly!!!!

Competition

When the world was young and the societies were getting formed, people flocked to each other as they were afraid of being alone. Their survival was based on the reality of them and their group being stronger than others, whether those others - were animals or people from another group.

Since people were, and still are, different, some were stronger, more intelligent  than other and those, who were stronger & more intelligent , took a larger share of everything, as it was obvious to them that they can demand and get whatever they want. Less strong people gave, as their survival depended on that. But if you don’t give from the heart, you try to find ways  - not to give, and if you are ambitious, then switch over the side – to take, also.

Competition came as less strong people were jealous and desired what strong people were enjoying. People wanted safety and protection, but did not want to shell out anything extra to those who were giving them safety and protection. So, a conflict arose.

A conflict that is still continuing. The form and substance of the same has changed, the gist has not. It is, in fact, accepted that competition has to be there, if the world has to improvise. Competition brings new things up and that is how the world is developing, evolving. We feel, since we are so narcissist, that the world is evolving because of our activities. We don’t grasp that the world is evolving as it has no other option. It requires great intelligence and sensitivity like that of Mr Albert Einstein to exclaim that the inventions credited to him were destined to come and it was just his good luck that it came thru him. Similar sentiments were echoed by Mr Bill Gates, when he made the statement that he was in right place at the right time to reach where he is right now. Lesser people attribute their achievements to their personal effort and tenacity and not a part of the evolving universe.

The universe has a plan and we are a part of that plan. The problem starts when we also make our own plan, oblivious of the universal plan. These may or may not be in harmony. If, they are in harmony, you can feel that as everything comes naturally to you, otherwise life becomes a conflict – between what IS and what I WANT. And since we feel that our self made plan is best for us, we don’t want to follow the hints coming to us in our life almost every day. We struggle and struggle and in that life takes its toll. We may achieve what we set for, but we don’t realise, what all we lost on the path. If only, we would have bothered to be present in each of our moments, the evolution would have come to us sitting in our own house taking us to zenith of whatever we were doing.

Since, we don’t know this, competition has become very valuable and desirable in the present society and that is the way, life will go on. We are honing our intelligence to make it sharper for all competition, to achieve our destiny by actually gagging the voice of heart, which would have taken us to the pinnacle, if only, we could dare to listen to heart instead of mind.

Ambition - the rot of society

With every human child born in the world, the story of achievement and success starts afresh. Initially the parents, then the teachers, then friends and then self – maybe in different orders – compel the child to be the best in whatever they desire to be. The desire to be the best in whatever they do, indirectly means that they have to be superior to everybody else in that field.

In the world, where everybody is united by a common thread and everybody has a unique role to play, the society loves comparing people and declaring winners and losers. It worships the winners and ridicules the loser. It has been going on like that for centuries and it will continue to be so, unless we realise where we are going wrong.

We are going wrong in our basic activity of pursuit of the goal of being the best. This activates competition. Sooner or later the competition becomes more important and the means to be the winner becomes everything. The path to degeneration is left open and we have seen that majority take the path.

If only, instead of ambition, excellence was the theme of the society, we would have walked on a different path. A path, where we would have still achieved everything, without sacrificing our soul. If our goal was not to beat everybody and be a winner, we would have taken along with us everybody, who was not as strong and intelligent as us. Then, we would not have looked down upon the losers and rejoiced as our being winners, but would have seen that we all march along together on the path to happiness.

Because when we want to excel in our field without any thought of competition, we build a society where excellence gives happiness and not, being superior to everyone else.

Known & Unknown

Life – perception in a set of situations, circumstances – grows on us and when we get conditioned, we don’t even come to know. We believe in our own story and everybody else’s story seems shallow. And in this terming, everybody else’s story as shallow, we ourselves turn shallower and shallower.

And the more shallow we become, the more refined we become in the eyes of society. The false sense of aggrandizement becomes our reality. We lose ourselves in our ambitions, our social service and our achievements. And by the time, we realise this, it is often too late. Nothing can be done.

The life goes on…… But does it? Everything happening has already happened a million of times since eternity. Every feeling, every emotion, every torture, every love, every hatred – has been lived by so many individuals before our time came. But it seems new. It seems as if nobody has loved the way we have loved or nobody has suffered the way we have suffered. Because, we get born with a clean slate and whatever is written on that becomes the ONLY reality for us. If it was not like that, there would have been lesser fights in this world. There would have been more love and peace in this world. But it has always been like that. It seems that things are changing, but nothing changes. The emotions of hurt, jealousy, anger last longer than that of love, compassion and generosity. And the world goes on like that. New teachings, new systems, new methods – all fail. They are destined to fail, because nobody questions.

We do not go deep in our thoughts. Why we think, the way we think? Why social acceptance is essential, why ambition is not frowned upon, why we are extremely violent despite worshipping animals and eating vegetables, why we are jealous of others?????????????????

So many whys – so many, no answers! Why the life seems bottomless? Why we get happy and sad? Why do we exist?

Friends, family, relatives – what do they mean in the long run? Why we don’t want the world to be happy? Why are we so insensitive towards people whom we don’t know? Is knowing everything? If I do not know anything, does it not, still exist? Then, why we insist for the things, we know. Why is unknown scary? Will I lose myself in the unknown or will the unknown mould me in something which I am afraid of becoming, as I feel comfortable in what I know?

But how much do I know? Hardly anything.

So, what do I do? Maybe, nothing. Sit idle and wait till the riddle takes care of itself.

Faith

Faith runs the world. We would perish if we lost faith. Faith, with its diverse shapes, sizes and colours has got all of us under its wrap. We all have faith in something or somebody, who takes care of us in our hours of need. Someone, who is more powerful than us and who protects us. Even Jesus Said - "Faith, as small as a mustard seed, can move mountains." But for that, we have to prove ourselves worthy of their protection, otherwise we are damned. So, a set of rules have been identified by society, as what is right and what is not. We have to follow those rules otherwise there is a possibility of us being abandoned by the powerful protector.

Alone, we are afraid. After all it is a matter of survival. How do we survive, if we are not strong? And since individually, we are not strong, let us be strong collectively. Then nobody can take us for granted. And hence we make groups, and the most common and accepted ones are the religious groups. The world is full of these religious groups – Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists etc. They all have their Gods or Goddesses. Then, we have Avtaars or Living Gurus, who also have a large fan following with undying faith in them. In the universe, there are scores of places, which have super natural powers to pull people out of problems, if the people just visit these places. There are enough examples to demonstrate that these are not man made stories. The prayer is answered, the problems indeed solved.

But when we believe in One and ask the Other, we don't get what we want. The reward comes only when you feel that the object of your prayers is going to help you in all circumstances. Does it mean that the Super Power will help only those who pray it? It seems doubtful. Also, we have been taught by all the religions that God or Goddess is omnipresent, omnipotent and is the root of all creation. In that case, will that Power leave somebody abandoned, just because it has not prayed to them. In that case, is not God behaving just like ordinary mortals?

But, why do we pray? Why do we have faith in external forces? Is it that we desire more than what we deserve and hence need some extra support to fulfill all our desires? Or is the world an unjust place? But, if all prayers and all faiths start materializing what will happen to this world? Do we have the answers? Let us try to uncover the mystery.

It all starts with our perception that individuals are not strong enough to create their own reality and hence they are at the mercy of someone superior to pull them out of trouble, if they happen to fall into it. The number of religious places and travelers all over the world are a proof that, people feel that faith in some external super power and their blessing, is essential to commence and to complete any difficult assignment in their life.

So, the question is – Can I pray sitting in my house and still get a positive response, in the sense of realizing my dreams or ambitions? Or further, Can I just think and create my reality? Sounds high sounding? Of Course!

Now, let us go back to the Christ's teaching. He asks us to have faith. Faith - in what ? As per normal accepted practice, faith in Jesus Christ. But a Muslim has faith in Allah, and he also gets what he wants. A Hindu gets what he wants with his faith in his God or Goddess. Does it mean that, we all have to have a channel before we can realize our reality? Whether that channel is a God or Guru of a particular religion is immaterial. But actually, what happens when we pray? Is it like an unwritten application to your Boss, which He approves depending upon what is possible and what is not ? Or does something more subtle happen?

We know we are energy in condensed form as we are made of molecules, our thoughts are energy. So, when we think or pray, we are emitting energy. The stronger and the more consistent the energy, the more it affects other cluster of energies. And since this universe is a cluster of energy, it gets affected the way, we have directed our energy and we realize our destiny or reality. But, since our birth, we have been experiencing our limitations, and hence it never comes to our mind that we are capable of creating our own reality. So, we bring God in between. Yes, God is powerful! He can do it, if he wants. He can do anything, but we can't. So, that is how the prayers came into light. The conditioning of our society, that has always restricted our capacity to perform, is the root cause of birth of our prayers.

So, where do we go from here? We have the choice either to consider our restrictions as real and keep on praying to our Gods, whenever we are in trouble or we can create our own reality.

But how can we create our own reality? We can, if we understand the working of the universe. As per Einstein, Mass and energy can not be created or destroyed. They only change form. So nothing has ever been created and nothing destroyed. Everything just has been changing forms. That's all. So, we are a mixture of mass and energy and so is everything else in this universe.

Now, let us see the other side of the story. We all believe in something supernatural, whether we call it Christ, Allah etc or Energy, Consciousness etc. The oldest religions have also told that a part of God resides inside everything, whether it is alive or dead, including each of us. That part of energy or God or consciousness is the one, who has the power to create its own reality, if we listen to it and believe in it. Negating its existence is like negating reality itself, as we know that we are beyond our body and mind.

When we feel its presence in our existence, we get the power to create our own reality, as then, we are not afraid of anything. Once the fear is gone from our life, nothing can restrict us. The task is to feel connected with the source, and that is the original sin, (the) Bible talks about - Our forgetfulness of this simple fact that we are connected to our source all the time.

So, when we know for sure our connectedness, we simply sit in a room and desire. The energy of the desire converts the desire into reality, if that desire was for joy and betterment of everybody. Selfish desires harming others don't get into reality even if you pray with full sincerity in front of your God. The energy of your desire displaces the other energy present in the universe to make room for that energy to manifest in the physical form and thus, you create your own reality. It becomes like praying to your own higher self and getting the desired result.
